Essential Care
Maintain It
Reliable scheduled professional maintenance for customers who want their aquarium consistently cared for and properly recorded.
AquaCare keeps a clear service record of scheduled maintenance and relevant observations.
Every aquarium is different. Its livestock, filtration, equipment, water volume, maintenance requirements and level of complexity all influence the professional care it needs.
AquaCare first understands your aquarium, then recommends the combination of Care Plan level and visit frequency that we believe is appropriate. These individually tailored aquarium maintenance plans are available across Leicester, Leicestershire and the wider East Midlands.
All three Care Plans provide professional scheduled maintenance. The difference is the depth of monitoring, oversight and AquaCare involvement around the living system over time.
These Care Plans are for domestic aquariums. For a hotel, reception, restaurant, office or other business setting, explore our bespoke commercial aquarium services.

Maintain + Monitor It
Professional maintenance combined with ongoing monitoring of parameter trends, aquarium stability, equipment condition and developing concerns.
Service records can include relevant test results, monitoring observations and agreed next steps.
Proactively Manage It
AquaCare’s highest level of ongoing professional care for customers who want AquaCare more closely involved in understanding, managing and protecting their aquarium.
Enhanced records support ongoing maintenance, system reviews and agreed actions over time.
Care Plan level and visit frequency are selected separately. This table describes the level of professional care; it does not set how often your aquarium is visited.

Every new AquaCare Care Plan begins with a more comprehensive first visit. Your first appointment includes the full scheduled maintenance appropriate to your aquarium and Care Plan, together with additional time for AquaCare to establish the professional starting record for the system.
Once the Baseline is established, future maintenance, observations and monitoring can be recorded against a clear professional starting point.
Your Care Plan determines how AquaCare cares for the aquarium. Your visit frequency determines how often scheduled professional care takes place.
12 scheduled visits per 12 months
26 scheduled visits per 12 months
52 scheduled visits per 12 months
Essential does not mean Monthly. Complete does not mean Fortnightly. Premium does not mean Weekly. AquaCare recommends the Care Plan and frequency combination we believe is appropriate after understanding the aquarium.
During scheduled Care Plan maintenance, AquaCare will normally carry out a water change of approximately 20% of the aquarium’s estimated total operating system volume.
AquaCare may adjust this where the aquarium’s condition, livestock, parameters or maintenance requirements make another amount more appropriate. For sump systems, this is based on the estimated actual total operating volume.
Water-change percentage does not increase with Care Plan tier. All plans receive the water change appropriate to the aquarium.
Reef and marine aquarium maintenance is AquaCare’s main speciality. Care considers salinity, chemistry, nutrients, filtration, skimming, circulation, sump systems, dosing, fish and coral observations, and the stability that these living systems need.
Discover reef & marine careTropical aquarium maintenance can consider water quality, filtration, substrate, plants, livestock, CO₂ and fertilisation, along with specialist water preparation where appropriate to the individual aquarium.
Explore aquarium maintenanceColdwater aquarium maintenance considers filtration, bioload, waste accumulation, oxygenation, substrate, livestock growth and the higher-maintenance demands that some systems can create over time.

Professional aquarium care. Properly recorded. Clearly communicated.
A clear record of scheduled maintenance and relevant observations.
Maintenance records, relevant test results and monitoring observations.
An enhanced record of maintenance, system reviews and agreed next steps.
AquaCare can record and communicate recommendations according to their appropriate priority, so that the condition of the aquarium and the available options are clear.
You can approve a recommendation, ask AquaCare for more information, choose “Not Now” or decline it. Approval does not automatically authorise an unspecified cost.
Replacement equipment, parts, significant media, dosing products, livestock, ICP testing, major remedial work, additional visits and other out-of-scope services may be additional. AquaCare will discuss these requirements before proceeding wherever reasonably practical.
Care Plans provide an ongoing professional relationship; they do not remove the need to agree the scope and cost of separate work.
If your aquarium needs urgent help, contact AquaCare as soon as possible. We will assess the situation and discuss the available options, subject to availability, location, safety and the work required.
Important: AquaCare does not guarantee 24/7 availability or immediate attendance. Any emergency attendance, additional visit or out-of-scope work is separately chargeable and will be discussed before proceeding wherever reasonably practical.
AquaCare does not publish fixed Care Plan prices online because every aquarium has different professional-care requirements. Your personalised quotation considers aquarium type, estimated operating volume, Care Plan level, recommended visit frequency, system complexity, water requirements and location.
Following your enquiry and aquarium assessment, AquaCare will recommend the appropriate service and provide your personalised quotation.
